When should I insure my new home?
Caledonia Homes insure your new home until the date of legal completion (the date of entry). After this date you are responsible for insuring both the buildings and contents.
If you have requested access to the property to store items prior to legal completion, you will be responsible for insuring them. Your mortgage provider will insist on building insurance. They may be able to recommend a reputable insurance company but you can always shop around for the best deals, always checking on your mortgage provider’s insurance requirements.
